EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION AND PERFORMANCE: employee motivation and performance seeks to look at how best employees can be motivated in order to achieve high performance within a company or organization. Managers and entrepreneurs must ensure that companies or organizations have a competent personnel that is capable to handle this task. This takes us to the problem question of this research “why is not a sufficient motivation for high performance?” This therefore estab-lishes the fact that money is for high performance but there is need to look at other aspects of motivation which is not necessarily money.

Globalization of capital markets requires a unified global accounting, reporting and disclosure set of standards. As a result of increasing volume of cross border capital flows and the growing number of foreign direct investments via mergers and acquisitions in the globalization era, the need for the harmonization of different practices in accounting and the acceptance of worldwide standards has arisen.

The TY Danjuma MBA Scholarships 2019/2020 for post-graduate African students

The TY Danjuma MBA Scholarship provides financial support to post-graduate African students who have been accepted onto MBA programmes at the top-10 leading Business Schools in the world. The Financial Times MBA Global Ranking for 2019 lists the top ten schools as; Stanford Graduate School of Business, Harvard Business School, INSEAD, University of Pennsylvania: Wharton, Ceibs, London Business School, University of Chicago: Booth, MIT: Sloan, Columbia Business School and University of California at Berkeley: Haas.
All successful African MBA applicants to the top ten Business Schools (as ranked by the Financial Times) are eligible to receive The TY Danjuma MBA Scholarship regardless of domicile. The grant is awarded to successful candidates prior to the annual intake for that Business School. The TY Danjuma MBA Scholarship is intended to provide additional financial support to help African students bridge some of the financial burden attached to taking on MBA programmes, it will not be enough to act as the primary source of funding for these programmes.

Launched in 2011, The TY Danjuma MBA Scholarship aims to help up to five students a year. Since launching, scholarships have been awarded to 35 students in total attending Harvard Business School, INSEAD, London Business School, MIT:Sloan, Stanford Graduate School of Business, University of California at Berkeley:Haas, University of Chicago Booth, IE Business School Madrid, University of Cambridge: Judge Business School and Wharton University of Pennsylvania. Our scholars have come from Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda and Zimbabwe, Ghana and Morocco.

We are now receiving applications for 2019/20 intakes.

The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Postgraduate & Postdoctoral Research Programme 2019 (CAD 32,000 per annum)

The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences – Research (AIMS Research) is pleased to invite prospective postdoctoral fellows who hold a PhD degree in any mathematical science discipline to apply for one of fifteen postdoctoral fellowships available through the AIMS Postdoctoral Research Fellows Program in climate change science. This is in response to an urgent need to increase the number of high-end researchers who, with limited supervision, can conduct cutting-edge mathematical science research in Africa.
AIMS postdoctoral research fellows in climate change science will each benefit from financial support of up to CAD 32,000 per annum for a maximum duration of two years, extendable subject to approval. They will be based at one of the seven existing AIMS Research Centres, including Quantum Leap Africa. Beneficiaries may be affiliated to any recognized institution of higher learning located in the same country as the host AIMS Research Centre. Funding will be provided for fellows and their supervisors to attend one research school that will take place at AIMS Rwanda.

Eligibility

Applicants can be from any country.
Applicants must hold at least a PhD degree (or a recognized equivalent) in any field related to mathematical sciences before the start date of this position.
Applicants should be interested in undertaking research within the climate change sciences and its related areas.
Knowledge/interest in mathematical modelling would be an advantage.
Applicants must be open-minded, and must be willing to conduct their research at their preferred AIMS Research Centre, or a designated partner institution in the same host country. The designated partner institution could be an academic/research institution or a non-academic institution (e.g. industry).

Financial Information

This is a two year extendable research position with a maximum total cost to AIMS of CAD 32,000 per annum. The cost includes a return flight ticket from the candidate’s home/institution to the AIMS Research Centre, tuition (if applicable), visa application, accommodation, living support, and health insurance.

University of Malta Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships 2019/2020 for study in Malta

The University of Malta is offering four Commonwealth and Valletta Action Plan Master’s Scholarships provided by the Government of Malta for students from Ghana and Namibia in 2019 (two per country).

You must be a citizen of either Ghana or Namibia.

2019 Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund for Women from Developing Countries.

Application Deadline: September 14, 2019.
Education grants are awarded to women from developing and middle-income countries who, upon obtainment of their degree, intend to work in, or with, a developing country to improve the lives of women and/or children.
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Be at least 25 years old at time of application deadline (see specific regional program application below);
Be a national of a country listed on the MMEG Country Eligibility List (except for the Trinity Washington University program);
Be enrolled (not just accepted) at an accredited academic institution when submitting application; and plan to be enrolled for a full academic term after award of the grant by the Board;
Not be related to a World Bank Group, International Monetary Fund or Inter-American Development Bank staff member or spouse;

south AFRICA

Applications for Africa program are accepted from May 15, 2019 to September 14, 2019. Queries may be addressed to southafrica@mmeg.org during this period. Decisions will be announced in December, 2019.
In addition to the above criteria, an applicant must:

already be enrolled part time (minimum of 2 courses per semester or term) or full time at one of the universities listed below:

be enrolled for at least one more academic term (the term between January to July 2020)

The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), operator of the SPDC Joint Venture, is delighted to announce the Ninth annual SPDC JV Niger Delta Postgraduate Scholarship for applicants from Bayelsa, Delta, Imo and Rivers states. The objective of the scholarship programme is to provide postgraduate study opportunity in courses that are relevant to the oil and gas industry, for qualifying students from these Niger Delta states

Candidates are advised that failure to meet each university’s English Language requirement at the time of selection may invalidate their application.
be aged between 21-28 years by 30/09/2019.
be an indigene of Rivers, Delta, Imo or Bayelsa states (documentary proof of this will be required and will be verified).
currently reside in Nigeria.
plan to return to Nigeria on completion of the proposed programme of study.
have obtained a university degree (at least of equivalent standard to a UK Second Class Upper Honours degree).
not have studied previously in the UK or any other developed country
have a Nigerian international passport valid till December 2020
be neither a current nor former employee (who has left employment less than 5 years before) of SPDC or the Royal Dutch Shell Group or any Shell company or the local Nigerian consultant
not be a spouse, child or ward of staff of Shell Companies in Nigeria or the local Nigerian consultant

Application Process

Submit application for admission to any of the participating universities for any of the qualifying courses.
Application forms for the scholarship will ONLY be available through the websites of the Imperial College London, the University of Leeds and University of Aberdeen, following a formal offer of admission by the university.
The universities will process applications and select candidates to attend interviews before being considered for final selection.
Completed scholarship application forms must reach participating universities and the local Nigerian consultant not later than June 15, 2019.

The scholarship will cover tuition, one economy return-flight ticket from Nigeria to the UK and a contribution towards living expenses only*.

More information on specific course admission requirements can be obtained from the websites of the three individual universities.

*Please note that the stipends (living expenses) are based on the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) published living rates and are limited to this only.

Procedure for Payment of Postgraduate Diploma Application Fee

Visit the University website: fulokoja.edu.ng
Click on PG Portal
Create your Postgraduate account by clicking on Create your PG Account
Fill in the required fields and Create Account
Login to the PG Portal with your created PG account email address
Generate and print out your payment invoice containing your payment RRR
With the generated RRR, pay application fee of N10,000.00 using REMITA services (card or bank payment):

For Card Payment: Visit remita.net, Click on "Pay an Electronic Invoice", Enter your generated RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference), and process your payment with relevant card details.

For Bank Payment: Visit any bank of your choice that offers REMITA services and pay using your generated RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) on your payment invoice.

Return to the University's PG Portal to confirm your payment.
Complete your application form online and print out your Bio-data Slip

Fully funded scholarships are available for all students from any country commencing study in 2018 (academic year 2018 – 2019) at Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics – Canada.

Scholarships available for Master degree program at Perimeter Institute. The scholarships will cover full tuition fees, stipend for living expenses, meals, accommodation, laptop, books, health insurance, etc. Scholarships are available for the duration of your study.
